Functional Training

Functional training is a new type of fitness routine which has its origins in rehabilitation and helps you focus your fitness training on movements and exercises that will help you perform better in every day life. Rather than isolating individual muscles, functional exercises follow the three basic motions of athletics (rotational, side-to-side, and front-to-back) to recruit entire muscle groups, and put you on your feet rather than a padded bench. When you're forced to maintain your balance while moving weight, you strengthen your core, an often-neglected muscle group comprising your gluts, lower back, and abdominals. Functional fitness is the perfect exercise routine for overworked moms, busy professionals, seniors or anyone else who needs a sensible, functional fitness routine.
